Completion of an accredited psychiatric nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
Additional Required Qualifications:2 years of recent experience in an Adult Acute Mental Health/Addictions nursing role. Working knowledge of relevant legislation is required, including the Alberta Mental Health Act and the Health Information Act. Working knowledge of psychotropic medications and psychopathology. Experience working with the CoACT model of care is required. Working knowledge and understanding of the principles of trauma-informed care.
Preferred Qualifications:Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in working with clients with concurrent disorders and are appropriately able to assess and manage signs of withdrawal from multiple substances.
