Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Psychiatric nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Registration to appropriate professional association recognized by the Health Professions Act. Minimum two years’ related experience with all ages of clients experiencing mental health problems. Working knowledge of suicide and crisis intervention. Working knowledge of mental health problems and evidence based interventions. Demonstrated assessment skills and dedication to client focused care. A working knowledge of medications as related to psychiatric issues. Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Note: This position requires a vehicle for business use. Possession of a Class 5 valid driver’s license (non-graduated license) and access to a motor vehicle in good repair for work-related travel.

Preferred Qualifications:

Working knowledge of community and mental health resources. Training and/or experience in suicide and crisis intervention: Suicide Risk Assessment Certificate or equivalent.
