Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, you must complete the following free courses: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4), available at https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules/ and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification, available at https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271.
Additional Required Qualifications:Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing Minimum of 3-5 years of recent Continuing Care nursing experience Self-directed and the ability to work independently & use sound professional judgement. Excellent organizational skills to be able to prioritize and efficiently organize many details in a timely manner. Communication and assessment skills to work cooperatively & effectively with the healthcare team members, clients, & their families in a fast-paced environment, identifying needs via tele triage & resolving conflicts. Ability to identify & manage risk and to mitigate and diffuse those situations. At the time of interview, you may be required to demonstrate your computer knowledge and proficiency by completing a hands-on assessment. You must demonstrate sufficient typing speed to meet workload demand and navigate through various computer programs including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), Visio, Outlook and Internet. Physically capable of performing nursing tasks which could include transfer of clients. The successful candidate will work independently in clients’ homes, which could include congregate settings, single family dwellings, condos and/or walk-up apartments. Therefore, the successful candidate must be able to work in different settings and environments (home environments and weather conditions), as well as be able to lift and carry medical bags, which weigh approximately 25-30 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:Palliative care experience is an asset. Demonstrated leadership and/or management experience. Must be able to work independently and within a team environment. Triage experience. Must be able to cope with high levels of stress, fluctuating priorities, and time sensitive deadlines. Experience with Connect Care 2 years current Case Management Experience in Continuing Care. Experience with introducing new initiatives and working on change management.
