Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Demonstrate critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making abilities required. Basic computer skills required. Successful candidate must be able to lift 40 lbs. (18kg). Must be able to attend Modality and Transplantation training in Edmonton or Red Deer. Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain databases related to case management. Confident and clear communicator with a strong understanding of adult learning principle.
Preferred Qualifications:Minimum 3 - 5 years recent acute and chronic Hemodialysis and or nephrology nursing experience is an asset. Demonstrated effective time management and organizational skills. Demonstrated knowledge of case management is an asset. Familiarity and expertise with assessing fistula/grafts, central venous catheters and skill with peritoneal dialysis catheters is preferred. Knowledge of renal transplantation and living donor program an asset. C.Neph certification.
