Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Current ACLS certification REQUIRED (From the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation). At least one year recent (within the last year) acute care nursing experience as an RN or LPN required. Ability to work in a stressful, rapid paced, dynamic environment required. Demonstrated critical thinking skills, including clinical judgment and problem solving skills. Excellent interpersonal & communication skills required. Ability to work independently and interdependently. Demonstrated strength in developing collaborative, effective working relationships with clients of cultural diversity and socio-economic diversity. Current experience (within last six months and of at least one year duration) in Emergency nursing or Urgent Care nursing preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:Recent NVCI training preferred. Current (within last six months and of at least six months duration) triage experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Department setting preferred. Current Urgent Care charge nurse experience preferred. Computer skills an asset. Proficiency working with Connect Care (EPIC) preferred.
