Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the past five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required prior to employment: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4): https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification: https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271.
Additional Required Qualifications:Current Registration in good standing with CRNA. Minimum 5 years of recent acute care experience. Minimum 3 years of recent acute care orthopedic nursing experience. Minimum 1 year experience using EPIC in Ambulatory clinical setting. Minimum 1 year experience with Ambulatory Referrals Management, including strong understanding of Referral Entry & Waitlist. Minimum 1 year experience with Managing Referral Work queues 1 to 5 in Connect Care (1- Action Needed, 2-Awaiting Triage, 3-Ready for Scheduling, 4-Pending notification, 5 -Outgoing Referrals). Demonstrated strong interpersonal and decision-making skills. Demonstrated critical thinking & assessment skills and ability to problem solve. Excellent time management, organizational skills and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:Bachelors of Nursing Degree. Knowledge of Orthopedic diseases, disorders, procedures and treatment protocols. Previous case manager / nurse clinician experience. Telephone assessment and triage experience. Experience with generating and presenting data. Current experience with hip and knee care path preferred. Understanding of the Alberta Referral Directory. Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint).
