Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Experience in solid organ transplantation within the last 5 years is required. Clinical knowledge and experience in chronic disease management (i.e. kidney, heart and liver disease) is required. Demonstrated skill in the clinical care (assessment, planning and provision of daily care) of patients with complex multi-system disease. Demonstrated strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills. Demonstrated teaching/presentation experience and skills to health care professional and the public. Advanced physical assessment skills. Demonstrated time management and organizational skills. Demonstrated critical thinking skills within scope of practice including clinical judgment and problem solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Baccalaureate degree in Nursing from an accredited University preferred. Experience in the outpatient case management of pre and post-transplant patients in Kidney, Kidney Pancreas/and or Liver/ and or Lung/ and or Heart transplant care is preferred. Experience in intensive care nursing within the last 5 years is an asset. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision. Demonstrated basic computer skills (MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
