Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. Eligibility is restricted to Graduate Nurses, Graduate Psychiatric Nurses, Registered Nurses and Registered Psychiatric Nurses who have graduated within 12 months prior to the anticipated start date of the program and who have not yet obtained a regular position with AHS, Covenant Health, or Recovery Alberta. Candidates selected for an interview must review the UNA Letter of Understanding #29 - Graduate Nurse Transition Pilot Program prior to the interview. Additional Required Qualifications:

Completed Baccalaureate degree in Nursing. Demonstrated interest in oncology nursing and willingness to develop competency in chemotherapy, biotherapy, and radiation therapy patient care. Strong assessment and critical‑thinking skills appropriate to the Graduate Nurse level. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize in a fast‑paced environment. Must be able to assist patients with varying levels of mobility.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous clinical experience in Cancer Care, acute care, including Emergency or ICU practicums, is an asset. Knowledge of theoretical principles of chemotherapy administration is an asset. Enrollment in or completion of oncology‑related coursework or an oncology-based education certificate (e.g. OPREP, Desouza etc.) program is an asset. Enrolled for NCLEX exam or CRNA registration.
