Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. Eligibility is restricted to Graduate Nurses, Graduate Psychiatric Nurses, Registered Nurses and Registered Psychiatric Nurses who have graduated within 12 months prior to the anticipated start date of the program and who have not yet obtained a regular position with AHS, Covenant Health, or Recovery Alberta. Candidates selected for an interview must review the UNA Letter of Understanding #29 - Graduate Nurse Transition Pilot Program prior to the interview. Additional Required Qualifications:The Grad Nurse position is intended for new nursing graduates and is not open to individuals with previous nursing experience who have completed programs such as the Bridge to Canadian Nursing Program or the nursing refresher program following an absence of five years or more or a more advanced nursing degree. Graduated from an Accredited Nursing Program within the last 12 months. Not currently in a regular full-time or regular part-time position with AHS.
Preferred Qualifications:Demonstrated critical thinking, effective decision making and conflict-resolution skills. Demonstrated time management and organizational skills. Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a member of a care team. Experience with Connect Care.
