Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Physically able to work in a high paced department, must be able to lift, bend, kneel, squat and walk a minimum of 3 klms per shift including stairs while carrying or pulling resource materials weighing up to 25 pounds. Must be able to work in a fast paced department that is variable, unpredictable and has competing priorities. Required to perform up to 4 hours of keyboarding (up to 40 wpm) and written documentation per shift while navigating and data entering into a variety of software programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing preferred; however, skills and experience relevant to nursing practice in community sector will be considered. Demonstrated knowledge of community resources. Proven critical thinking and assessment skills. Understands and is able to apply case management principles as it relates to the transition of clients through the continuum of care. Must have excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills in order to work with a multi-disciplinary team.
