Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Qualifications:3-5 years of nursing experience required. 1 year of working with the senior population required. Demonstrated critical thinking, organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy required. Ability to communicated and collaborate with the multi discplinary team required. Ability to work in a fast paced department that is variable, unpredictable and has competing priorities required. Ability to perform up to 4 hours of keyboarding and written documentation per shift required. Ability to work with fixed timelines, cope with frequent interruptions and changes required.Physically able to lift, bend and walk a minimum of 3 km per shift, including stairs while carrying or pulling resource materials weighing up to 25 lbs required.Strong computer skills and ability to navigate and data enter into a variety of software programs required.
Preferred Qualifications:Transition, community, palliative experience.Demonstrated knowledge of community resources. Demonstrated understanding of case management principles as it relates to the transition of clients through the continuum of care. Strong conflict resolution and change management skills.
