Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Advanced knowledge, skills, and proficiency with 5 years of recent nursing experience in Gastroenterology and/or Viral Hepatitis population. Experience in case management, including telephone assessment and advice. Demonstrated leadership skills. Experience with office equipment, such as fax, photocopier, and multi-line telephones. Ability to work with frequent interruptions. Ability to work effectively with members of a multi-disciplinary medical team. Intermediate computer and software skills. Ability to adapt to changing/expanding environment.
Preferred Qualifications:Baccalaureate degree in nursing; however, skills and experience relevant to nursing practice in the community sector will be considered. CSGNA Certification. Recent experience with specialized treatment protocols for gastroenterology disorders and diseases. Experience in Out-Patient clinics. Clinical research experience. Incorporates advanced nursing practice and knowledge into clinical practice. Previous Connect Care experience an asset.
