Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Must be an effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, resident focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Able to provide effective leadership abilities combined with a strong commitment to operating within the team environment. Able to coach, teach and motivate others to achieve common goals. Able to inspire and build confidence in others. Demonstrate ability and comfort with the day-to-day decision making responsibilities of Long Term Care. Demonstrate ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues in consultation with Management.
Preferred Qualifications:2 years gerontology nursing experience but willing to train. Minimum of one (1) years' working in a leadership capacity (i.e. Charge Nurse or Team Lead) is preferred. Charge Nurse and leadership training is an asset. Experience working in Meditech and RAI 2.0 is preferred. Preference will be given to staff who have completed CCHSS required education.
