Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum two years current acute/community health. Ability to work independently and foster a team work environment with members of a multidisciplinary and multicultural health care team. Strong computer skills required. Demonstrated advanced assessment skills. Excellent interviewing, counseling and teaching skills. Excellent critical thinking/problem solving skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated effective organizational and time management skills. Demonstrated understanding of cultural competency. Proven ability to develop effective, therapeutic relationships with vulnerable, foreign-born clients with language barriers. Preferred Qualifications:Public health or communicable disease control experience. Working knowledge of TB control. Experience in a Tuberculosis clinic setting an asset.
