Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse within the past five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required prior to employment: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4): https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification: https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271.

Additional Required Qualifications:

2 years of recent nursing experience (obtained within the last 5 years) or completion of a refresher program within 2 years. Self-directed, ability to work independently & use sound professional judgement. Excellent organizational skills able to prioritize & efficiently organize many details in a timely manner. Communication and assessment skills to work cooperatively & effectively with healthcare team members, clients, & their families in a fast-paced environment. You may be required to demonstrate your computer knowledge and proficiency by completing an assessment. You must demonstrate sufficient typing speed to meet workload demand & navigate through various computer programs including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook & Internet. Physically capable of performing nursing tasks which could include transfer of clients. The successful candidate will work independently in clients’ homes, which could include congregate settings, single family dwellings, condos and/or walk-up apartments. The successful candidate must be able to work in different settings and environments, as well as be able to lift and carry medical bags, which weigh approximately 25-30 lbs. Ability to travel throughout the AHS Edmonton Zone in all-weather circumstances during the workday from network office, acute care, and community setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

3 years of recent (obtained in the last year) formal community Case Management experience. Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred; skills and experience relevant to nursing practice in community sector will be considered. Palliative care experience within the last three years (community setting is preferred).
