Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of the perioperative course or significant acute OR experience is required. 5 or more years of recent experience in an acute care Surgical Suite is required. Ability to collaborate within the expectations of a highly complex, integrated team. Experience and proficiency with the OR Manager electronic charting required. Ability to stand scrubbed for many hours to support the surgical team. Ability to wear lead apron radiograph protection and any personal protective equipment (PPE) as determined by AHS policies and protocols. Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal, promoting respect and team spirit.
Preferred Qualifications:Nursing Degree preferred. Canadian Nurses Association Peri-operative certification (CPN(c)) is preferred. Experience with scrub and circulating roles in General surgery, Ortho Trauma and Gynecology specialties preferred.
