Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Demonstrates effective time management and organizational skills. Commitment to working within a dynamic healthcare team interested in advancing the care of surgical patients. Ability to manage multiple demands and changing priorities. Basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Minimum 1 year of current acute surgical nursing experience. TNA/TPN certification. PCA/PCEA certification. CVC certification. Wound care/ostomy care and maintenance. Charge Nurse experience. Drains – removal, care and maintenance. Tube feeds (NG, J-tube). Cardiac monitoring experience and knowledge. Recent experience in general surgical nursing on an acute care inpatient unit. Experience with caring for High Observation surgical oncology post-operative patients. Knowledge of Connect Care.
