Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)

Additional Required Qualifications:

Two years of recent NSWOC nursing experience (within the last 5 years). Completion of and certified by an accredited certification program from NSWOC Canada: WOC-EP/NSWOC program. Excellent organizational skills –able to prioritize and organize many details in a timely manner. Strong computer literacy. We extensively use Netcare, Pixalere, Connect Care View Only (launching in Fall 2024), MEDITECH, and Outlook. Ability to pull/carry/lift a roller bag/backpack carrying med/surg and equipment- approximately 25-30 lbs. Ability to lift resident limbs for assessments and treatment: limbs can vary in weight (~30lbs and up depending on the resident). Ability to be on the ground completing assessments and wrapping lower limbs in resident suites. Knowledge and experience in managing and problem solving a wide range of both highly complex wound etiologies and wound healing factors. Demonstrated ability to provide comprehensive assessments of individuals within their physical and social environments. Sound clinical judgment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills: You will be expected to work to your full scope of practice. Ability to work autonomously in the community setting. Exceptional interpersonal skills, including peaceful conflict management and problem solving. Strong written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills. Openness and willingness to be coached by the team and leadership, when required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous Community Care and/or geriatric experience. Experience with Netcare, Pixalere, Connect Care, and Meditech. Current Comprehensive Lower Leg Assessor. Preference will be given to those with community NSWOC experience.
