Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Previous 4C experience is required. Successfully pass the Stollery Pre-hire Interview Medication Administration Exam. Successfully pass the Stollery Medication Administration Exam with 90% or greater completed during orientation. Successfully pass the Stollery PEARS (Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization) course - completed during orientation. Must meet all organizational policy requirements for employment.
Preferred Qualifications:Preference will be given to applicants with previous pediatric experience in an acute care setting, specifically pediatric Cardiology and/or GI experience.Due to the nature and acuity of the patients cared for within the Pediatric Cardiology Program, preference will be given to those with current certification in specialized clinical competencies, including direct IV, cytotoxic administration, charge, VAD, ICE, care of trach/vent patients and peritoneal dialysis
