Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum Three (3) years Community Psychiatric Nursing experience required. Minimum three (3) years In-patient Psychiatry experience required. Strong interpersonal communication skills, solid interviewing, assessment skills and report writing are a must. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Solid Knowledge of and experience working with the offender population an asset. Firm knowledge and experience working with corrections and the justice system an asset. Baccalaureate degree in Mental Health nursing an asset. Experience with community partner engagement an asset. Knowledge of therapeutic modalities/ interventions an asset. Knowledge of current forensic risk measures an asset.
