Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Psychiatric nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). PLEASE NOTE: This posting is scheduled to close at 23:59 MT of the posting end date but may be filled earlier if a Regular Employee who holds a position within the unit, program, or office expresses their interest in this vacancy by 23:59 MT on the 5th calendar day following the posting date, under LOU #25. Please be advised this posting may be used to fill multiple identical vacancies arising as a result of the administration of the Trial of Modified Posting Provisions.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Completion of one of the following programs will be considered: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Psychiatric Nursing Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing WITH Related Master’s degree including training in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy OR Considerable experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Full Registration with respective regulatory College under the Health Professions Act Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Minimum of 3 years of relevant mental health experience, preferably in a community setting. Knowledge and experience with providing individual and group psychotherapy using evidenced-based modalities, preferably in a community setting. Knowledge and experience treating individuals experiencing addiction (substance and/or process) Ability to ambulate, climb stairs, and move quickly without limitations in a variety of environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

Extensive knowledge of the resources of Addiction and Mental Health and the community. A strong understanding of client resources in the community and knowledge of mental health legislation including Community Treatment Orders is an asset.
