Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Recent experience working in a children’s mental health care setting for at least two years required. Must have proven communication, behavioral management, clinical observation and assessment skills. Must have knowledge of the treatment and medications used to treat children and adolescents with neuropsychiatric illness. Physically able to lift 11 kg, climb 3 flights of stairs, participate in gym activities and escort children into environment restraints or use physical restraints when required. This position works with children and youth who are experiencing significant mental health and/or behavior issues who may demonstrate dysregulation, loud voices, anger and/or anxiety.

Preferred Qualifications:

Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred; however, skills and experience relevant to nursing practice will be considered. Experience in working with a multidisciplinary team would be an asset.
