Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Proficient computer and keyboarding skills. Demonstrate excellent time management skills. Ability to work as a team player within a multidisciplinary team. Proven critical thinking and decision-making skills. Ability to be self-directed and able to exercise independent nursing judgment. Ability to communicate effectively with clients of various ages, socioeconomic status and ethnic backgrounds. Demonstrates commitment to quality improvement and safety. Active in participation in professional development opportunities and community engagement. Able to carry supplies up to 30 lbs. for vaccine programs within the clinic setting as well as to offsite locations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred; however skills and experience relevant to nursing practice in community sector will be considered. Current public health nursing experience in Public Health Calgary Zone Well Child Program. Knowledge of community based support Services in south central Calgary and surrounding area. Experience using the Meditech clinical information system. CNA certification in Community Health Nursing Experience in assessment, consultation and teaching.
