Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

At least 1 year of experience working as a Registered Nurse in any of the following areas; prenatal, Labour & Delivery, Postpartum, Pediatrics, or Immunization within the last 3 years. Lift/carry supplies up to a minimum of 30 lbs. Ability to bend, twist, kneel and respond safely and quickly to a variety of emergency situations. Independently perform the skills of a certified BLS provider. Sit, stand for a minimum of 30 minutes. Ability to raise arms to shoulder height, in a repetitive movement for immunization. Work within outreach sites that have no consistent ergonomic setup. Effective and efficient time management. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse clients from various cultures, ages and socioeconomic backgrounds. Proficient computer and keyboarding skills. Demonstrate culturally competent care. Conduct contemporaneous electronic documentation at the point of care. Self-directed and able to exercise critical thinking and independent nursing judgement in a fast-paced stressful environment. Preferred Qualifications:

Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing; skills/experience relevant to community nursing considered. Well Child experience within the last 3 years. Nursing students final focus in public health within the last 3 years considered. Ability to act in urgent circumstances (e.g. severe postpartum depression/suicide, domestic violence). CNA Certification in Community Health. Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant. Experience with Meditech CIS.
