Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Experience working with teens, and marginalized populations and knowledge, understanding and demonstrated use of the determinants of health and health promotion required. Other recent nursing experience in maternal/postpartum and newborn assessment and care, NICU, Pediatrics or Labor and Delivery is required. Recent experience immunizing babies, preschool and/or school aged children is required. Ability to be self-directed and to exercise independent nursing judgment required. Strong interpersonal skills required. Experience in interdisciplinary team work required. Strong written and oral communication skills required. Strong analytical, critical thinking, decision making, and organizational skills required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Baccalaureate degree in Nursing (BN), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or Bachelor of Nursing is preferred; however, skills and experience relevant to nursing practice in community sector will be considered. Canadian Nurses Association Certification in Community Health Nursing an asset. International Board of Lactation Consultants certification an asset. Recent experience in public health nursing, Healthy Beginnings, Child Health Clinic and School Health preferred.
