Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:The successful candidate will possess the ability to be self-directed and to exercise independent nursing judgement. The position requires strong interpersonal skills, experience working within a multidisciplinary team, experience working with teens, diverse cultures, and marginalized groups. Have knowledge, understanding, and demonstrated use of the determinants of health and health promotion. Strong written and oral communication skills, strong analytical, critical thinking, decision making and organizational skills. Working knowledge of computer applications including basic word processing, email, and internet access and data entry.
Preferred Qualifications:Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred, however, skills and experience relevant to nursing practice in the community sector will be considered. Canadian Nurses Association Certification in Community Health Nursing is an asset. International Board of Lactation Consultants Certification is an asset. Recent experience in public health nursing, particularly Health Beginnings and Well Child Clinic is preferred.
