Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Previous Pre-Admission Clinic experience. Minimum typing requirement of 40 words/min. 5 years recent experience on a post-surgical unit and/or day surgery unit. Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessment skills. Demonstrated strong critical thinking abilities. Demonstrated proficiency in providing patient teaching virtually and face to face. Ability to manage in a multi-faceted clinic through efficient time-management and organizational skills. Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and independence of nursing practice in a multidisciplinary team environment. Effective interpersonal and communication skills through computer, verbal, and written means, in a professional and mature manner. Proficiency in computer skills. Expertise using the Windows environment and communication using AHS email. Ability to sit and/or stand while working for extended periods of time. Ability to provide CPR as a single rescuer for a short extended period.
Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge and use of Netcare, Connect Care.
