Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the past five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required prior to employment: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4): https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification: https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 2 years’ experience as a RN on a medical unit in an urban acute care setting within the last 5 years. Demonstrated ability to work with a large multi-disciplinary team. Strong communication skills essential. Demonstrated ability to work at full scope of practice. Physical ability to push, lift and carry upwards of 30lbs required. Must be physically able to walk, stand, bend and sit for the majority of a 7.75-hour shift. Must be able to help patients with mobility issues.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with patients with complex behaviours, dementia, addiction and mental health conditions. Experience on U42 preferred. Charge Nurse experience. “See the Person” course. NVCI certification (within the last 2 years). Collaborative Problem Solving. Current N95 Fit Test and "It's Your Move" certifications. Experience using Connect Care.
