Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Community experience in the last 2-3 years. Acute medical or oncology nursing experience in the last 2-3 years. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work in an inter-professional team. Organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize and organize many details in a timely and flexible manner. Effective decision making and critical thinking skills are required. Ability to work in a self-directed environment, independently, using sound professional judgment. Computer skills are required (MS Word, Office). Must be physically able to perform all aspects of the position in accordance with Hazard Inventory Assessment and Control worksheet (HIAC). This position requires a vehicle for business use. Possession of a valid driver’s license and a motor vehicle in good repair for work related travel is required.
Preferred Qualifications:Palliative Care Experience preferable in the last 2-3 years. Baccalaureate in Nursing preferred. CNA certification in Palliative Care. Case Management Certification.
