Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Candidates are required to write a medication calculation exam on interview. Failure to achieve a passing mark on the exam may impact decision to hire. Demonstrated excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication and priority setting skills required. Demonstrated reliability required. Able to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment. Basic computer skills are required. Position requires candidates to perform moderate to heavy work on a regular basis in an RN/LPN/HCA capacity in order to ensure safe patient care and safety of unit staff. This job is physically demanding, the incumbent will be required to assist with lifting, turning, and mobilizing patients as well as other physical tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:Two years Charge Nurse experience preferred. Two years previous orthopedic and surgical experience preferred. IV, PCA, epidural, Central Line Drains and Wound Care experience preferred.
