Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Must have 3 years of previous experience working with people who would be diagnosed with a substance use disorder. NVCI or immediate registration into the next available course is required. Suicide Prevention training. Must be able to work independently with a high degree of judgment and must be able to work effectively as part of an inter-professional team. Commitment to strengthening team dynamics by actively facilitating team collaboration to enhance client health outcomes. Must have experience working with vulnerable populations including those living with addictions and mental health concerns. Must be able to use clinical skills in holistic assessment and strong clinical experience in providing treatment to address physical and mental health needs. Knowledge of and ability to apply the principles of trauma-informed care in all interactions with clients. Physical ability to respond to emergency situations and lift, squat, and carry. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with community partners required. Experience working in an interdisciplinary setting is required.
Preferred Qualifications:Excellent communication, problem-solving and organizational skills. Ability to engage various populations. Experience with Connect Care.
