Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Basic computer skills. Strong communication skills. Ability to establish strong working relationships with colleagues and patients and work within an interdisciplinary team. Adaptability to a constantly changing environment. Commitment to providing patient and family-centered care. Proficient critical thinking skills. Strong commitment to improving care and working towards best practice. Personal commitment to maintaining continuing competency and professional development. Ability to manage and effectively prioritize a variety of demands concurrently. Active participation and contribution to improving the work environment, Ability to work shift work. Ability to meet the physical requirements including but not limited to sitting and standing for long periods, lifting, bending, twisting, squatting, pushing and pulling.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in Labor and Delivery, postpartum care. Current certification in NRP. Experience and training in Fetal Health Surveillance. Current certification as IBCLC (International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant) is an asset. Leadership experience. Stork Connect Care training. Recovery room training.
