Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the past five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required prior to employment: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4): https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification: https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271.
Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). This position requires the ability to walk long distances, transfer and mobilize patients, move equipment, and lift to shoulder height. Recent experience (3 years within the last 5) with spine surgery (ortho or neuro). Knowledge of ERAS protocols, knowledge of spinal surgical care and the spine surgery landscape at FMC. Self-initiated, proactive, and able to self-manage and prioritize workload. Effective problem solving and critical thinking skills, with a solution-focused mindset. Experience with implementing change management models in a clinical setting. Experience providing patient education and addressing patient concerns. Comfort and experience with QI and using data for decision making. Strong, professional written communication required. Applicants must submit a cover letter and resume.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with chart review for QI data collection. Knowledge of and experience with Red Cap or similar data collection programs. Experience working in a matrixed team environment such as with research teams is an asset.
