Registered Nurse Locum Program – Travel Nurse
Your Opportunity:
Earn premium incentives, gain diverse experience, and explore northern Alberta in the RN/RPN Locum Program. If you are a Registered Nurse who values flexibility, variety, and meaningful work, the Locum Program offers the opportunity to practice across a range of communities and care settings while making a direct impact where your skills are most needed. Locum RNs complete short-term, full-time assignments ranging from three weeks to one year across Acute Care (Emergency, OR, Obstetrics, ICU, NICU, Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Mental Health), Home Care, and Continuing Care. Please note: Due to operational needs, only candidates with recent and ongoing clinical practice in areas of current organizational demand will be considered. This experience must reflect familiarity with current patient care standards and practice environments. Consideration will be given to the depth, continuity, and level of active practice experience. From prairie grasslands to boreal forests, assignments take place in communities with unique cultures, landscapes, and healthcare needs. In this role, you will provide comprehensive, patient-centered care, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and adapt to evolving clinical priorities—often in rural or remote settings where your expertise is needed most. Locum Incentives (pilot extended to October 1, 2026): $25/hour locum premium. $50/day rural incentive (outside Grande Prairie & Fort McMurray). Daily per diem ($25.40) and meal allowance ($57/day). Travel reimbursement and provided accommodation. As a Health Shared Services employee, you will support healthcare delivery across northern Alberta with strong operational support and competitive incentives. The RN Locum Program offers an opportunity to build skills, expand clinical experience, and contribute to high-quality care across multiple settings.
