Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) required. Current CPR and NRP required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to maintain good interpersonal and working relationships with all members of the health team. Ability to take initiative, be self-motivated, and work both independently and as part of a team. Change management skills, leadership skills, critical thinking, teaching and oral/written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing preferred, however diploma in nursing with experience as a Lactation Consultant will be considered. Minimum 3 years recent experience working with neonatal (level II and III) required and high risk maternal newborn population preferred.
