Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:1 to 2 years of recent Home Care experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Demonstrated critical thinking and decision making skills. Demonstrated assessment skills. Demonstrated ability to operate within an electronic health record. Proven ability to work in a multidisciplinary team. Ability to work independently using innovative approaches to case manage a diverse client caseload. Good negotiation and conflict resolution skills. You will be responsible to operate a laptop computer and mobile phone, and for manual handling (lifting, lowering, carrying, pushing and pulling) as a regular part of the job. Basic computer skills required. Knowledge of ethical principles and their application in the clinical/home setting. Ability to function well in a fast paced, challenging environment. Physically able to perform all assigned tasks. Ability to perform all duties in accordance with related legislation. This position requires a vehicle for business use. Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a motor vehicle in good repair for work-related travel is required.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with mental health and/or addictions/harm reduction. Experience working in community based setting.
