Required Qualifications:

Graduate of a Registered Nurse program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Adult Critical Care Nursing certificate required. Completion of an ICU course required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proven problem solving and critical thinking skills. Excellent assessment and organizational skills. If the successful candidate requires Critical Care orientation and/or certificate, the following will apply: Covenant Health in conjunction with Alberta Health Services provides Registered Nurses with a unique opportunity to be enrolled in a Critical Care Orientation Program (OPACCA). The unit will be responsible for course cost and salary obligations. The successful candidate will be required to sign a 12 month Return for Service commitment agreement, as outlined in the UNA Collective Agreement. The Return for Service commitment will commence following successful completion of the program inclusive of the clinical practicum.

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred. One year of related experience preferred. Previous medical/surgical experience preferred. Monitor training preferred. Charge nurse experience preferred.
