Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)

Additional Required Qualifications:

Application of Comprehensive assessment, case management, and intervention techniques. Promoting Current trends, issues and practices in community care. Partnering with Community resources. Implementation of Current best practices in case management processes. Understanding and application of Quality Improvement theory and methodologies. Conflict resolution and crisis intervention. Leadership. Time management and organization. Negotiating skills with clients, caregivers and families. Family assessment skills. Effective oral and written communication. Working independently and as a member of a team. Working In a fast paced, ever-changing environment. Working with people in health care environment with professionalism and respect. Positive approach and good listening skills in dealing with challenging situations with empathy and sincerity. Knowledge of Guidelines for Assignment of Health Care Procedures by Health Care Aides. Valid driver's license and must have access to a vehicle. Ability to perform all assigned tasks and direct clinical care including but not limited to: Constant adjustment of position (sit/stand) throughout the shift. Physical exertion including bending/walking/sitting/ or standing for long periods of time. Keyboarding/mousing documentation for prolonged periods of time. Ability to be on call as required. Ability to perform all duties in accordance with related legislation.

Preferred Qualifications:

Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred; however, skills and experience relevant to nursing practice in community sector will be considered. Preference given to candidates with Recent Community Care Case Management experience (1-3 Years) Recent clinical experience in psychiatric, palliative and geriatric nursing preferred. Knowledge of and skills in applying Home Care Nursing Practice Standards. Knowledge of Alberta Aids to Daily Living (AADL) Program is desired.
