Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Current registration with CARNA. 3+ years’ experience in public health nursing (experience with expectant and post-partum mothers and families). Recent experience working with vulnerable communities along with a strong understanding of the social determinants of health, health equity and trauma informed care. Ability to be self-directed and to exercise independent nursing judgment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Recent experience working with community partners. Experience working within a multidisciplinary team. Valid driver's license and vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications:Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred; however, skills and experience relevant to nursing practice in the community sector will be considered. Canadian Nurses Association certification in community health nursing an asset. Recent nursing experience in antenatal, labour and delivery, neonatal intensive care, post-partum. Recent experience in virtual and in-person facilitation.
