Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Psychiatric nursing education program. Minimum 3 years nursing experience in an acute adult inpatient psychiatric setting within the last 5 years. Knowledge of mental health diagnosis (DSM V), symptomatology and related treatment modalities/interventions. Working knowledge of the mental health related resources across the zone.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in psychiatric emergency, outreach response or geriatric mental health team. Experience in performing: MoCA, MMSE, Geriatric Depression Scale, Functional Activities Questionnaire, Environmental Risk Assessment & Safety Visit Plan and Genogram/Ecomap History. Group facilitation and providing education for caregivers/healthcare partners. Dementia care and cognitive impairment in a community care setting (care facility, residential homes, manors and LTC). NVCI certification (last 2 yrs).
