Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Candidates must possess a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, completion of an accredited RNFA program, and a minimum of five (5) years of perioperative nursing experience. Candidates must also demonstrate strong leadership and mentorship abilities; excellent communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills within a highly complex interdisciplinary environment; and proficiency in critical thinking, problem-solving, and conflict resolution. Candidates applying for the Professional Development Opportunity must meet the required qualifications listed above and the RNFA Program admission requirements set by the National Institute of First Assisting (NIFA). Participation in the Program will require a Return for Service Agreement. The program is full-time and approximately 6 months in duration; timelines may vary based on service delivery, location, Canadian Nursing Association examination schedules and individual learner progression. Preferred Qualifications:CNA Certification in Perioperative Nursing. Active CNA membership. Active AAN membership. Perioperative Certificate from an accredited post-secondary institution. Previous RNFA experience in a variety of surgical specialties. ACLS Certification. PALS Certification. Completion of RN prescribing modules. Membership with one of the following Professional Associations: ORNAC, RNFANC or AORN.
