Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Demonstrates effective organizational skills. Demonstrates clear communication skills both oral and written. Ability to make accurate phone assessments, interventions and appropriate follow-up and referrals. Demonstrates ability to be self-directed as well as effectively working and communicating within a team. Basic computer skills required. Recent and extensive experience working with complex wounds and ostomies. Minimum 5 years of acute inpatient surgical nursing experience.
Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor of Nursing degree and certificate in or enrolled in approved NSWOC Nursing Education Program. Experience with patient and family teaching an asset. Experience with caring for acute general surgery oncology patients an asset. Demonstrates ability to be self-directed as well as effectively working and communicating within a team. Knowledge of Connect care.
