Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Certification in IV therapy, blood glucose monitoring. A minimum of five years current nursing experience at least three of which are Critical Care in a tertiary level setting. Experience in Hemodynamic monitoring. Regional certification in IV medication administration, CVC, and PCA pumps. Ability to perform duties as outlined on the Physical Demand Statement (PDS) for the position. Reliable and dependable. Ability to safeguard AHS information as private and confidential. Ability to follow and adhere to AHS policies, procedures, goals and objectives. Demonstrated leadership skills required. Demonstrated skills in written and verbal communication required. Demonstrated ability in the use of principles of time management and effective problem solving required. Demonstrated skills in conflict management. Demonstrated ability to complete an accurate systems assessment (both adult and pediatric). Basic computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in Diagnostic imaging interventional and angiography procedures desired. Emergency, ICU/CCU experience an asset. Dysrhythmia interpretation. ACLS certification an asset.
