Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)

Additional Required Qualifications:

Experience in stroke care, cardiology care, emergency department, or neurology National Institute of Health Stroke Scale training certificate, Swallow screening training applicable for site. Clinical experience with emphasis on neurological conditions or stroke care. Experience in teaching adults. Good communication skills with effective team building capability, experience in change management, and quality improvement initiatives. Familiarity with principles of Health Change Methodology and incorporating them into daily practice. Knowledge and skills with computer and software application.

Preferred Qualifications:

Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred; however, skills and experience relevant to nursing practice in the community sector will be considered.
