Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the past five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required prior to employment: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4): https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification: https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271.
Additional Required Qualifications:Bachelor's of Nursing Degree and in good standing with CRNA. Current CRNA Registration Current BLS-HCP Certification Minimum 5 years of recent acute care nursing experience at a 0.5 FTE or higher Minimum 3 years acute care orthopedic experience at a 0.5 FTE or higher. Minimum 1 year of patient\family orthopedic teaching required. Minimum 1 year experience using EPIC in Ambulatory/Orthopedic clinical setting Demonstrated proficiency using EPIC Experience with the current Alberta Hip and Knee Care Path Proficiency in English communication (written and verbal) Demonstrated strong interpersonal and decision-making skills. Demonstrated critical thinking & assessment skills with ability to problem solve Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Master’s Degree in Nursing Certification in Case Management Previous Case Management experience (within last 3 years). Previous Nurse Clinician experience (within last 3 years) Knowledge of the CPSA Guidelines Experience in South Health Campus Dept. of Surgery Orthopedics Ability to adhere to AHS Code of Conduct & Confidentiality Policy
