Your Opportunity:

Kinuso is a multicultural town, offering a small and integrated feel, but is also close to big city amenities with Edmonton only 290 km away. Beautiful, natural surroundings create a unique quality of life, including a provincial park, Canada’s northernmost bird observatory. There is also an abundance of recreational, cultural, educational and social service facilities for people of all ages in nearby Slave Lake and High Prairie. Working in the Kinuso office as the home care nurse, you will be independant with support from nearby homecare offices in Slave Lake and High Prairie. You will be caring for clients residing in the community of Kinuso and surrounding area providing health assessments, wound care, foot care, and other nursing services. This is an opportunity for autonomy and creativity in a specialized nursing area. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

One to two years of nursing experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor of Nursing Preferred. Seniors Health experience. Foot care.
