Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the past five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required prior to employment: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4): https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification: https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 5 years of recent acute care experience is required. Minimum 3 years (within the last 5) of recent acute care orthopedic nursing experience required. Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills required. Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail required. Demonstrated clinical assessment and leadership skills required. Demonstrated strong decision making skills required. Demonstrated critical thinking skills and able to problem solve using sound clinical judgment required. Personal computer knowledge and proficiency required (MS Office, Email). Self-directed and able to work independently when appropriate. Experience coordinating patient care across a continuum. Experience working with members of a multidisciplinary team. Excellent time management and organizational abilities to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:Advanced knowledge of Orthopedic diseases, disorders, procedures and treatment protocols preferred. Previous case manager / clinician experience preferred. Current ambulatory / outpatient clinic experience preferred. Telephone assessment and triage experience and skills preferred. Experience with generating and presenting data. Current experience with hip and knee care path preferred.
