Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Preference for having current ACLS through heart and stroke. Must have a minimum 2 years Cardiac Critical Care experience. Recent Cardiac Cath Lab experience and current Cardiology CCU experience are also required. Recognized Critical Care Course is required. Current certifications in defibrillation, ECG, temporary pacemakers, and advanced hemodynamics are required. A combination of experience and education will be considered; however successful completion of a Critical Care Challenge exam may be required. Must possess strong decision-making skills and be able to work effectively in stressful and emergent situations. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are necessary with the ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with other members of the multi-disciplinary team. The Relief Float RN will be expected to float to the three units above as needs arise in the program.
Preferred Qualifications:Must have 1-2 years recent acute care experience. Must possess strong decision-making skills and be able to work effectively in stressful and emergent situations. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are necessary, with the ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
