Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of current experience in Labor and Delivery and antenatal nursing. Ability to work independently and be self-directed. Current experience working with vulnerable and marginalized clients and populations. Knowledge of the determinants of health. Ability to adapt to a changing work environment in a multi-disciplinary team. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to work with computers and electronic documentation platforms. Strong interpersonal skills. Strong clinical, analytical, critical thinking and decision-making skills. The successful candidate will be required to pack, lift, move and transport heavy and awkward supplies to various work sites. Service delivery may require driving and walking in inclement weather, walking several blocks and climbing several flights of stairs. The work includes awkward and repetitive movements, sitting, standing and/or bending for long periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience using an electronic documentation system an asset (Meditech, Connect Care).
