Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $39.58 - $54.16 per hour. Upon obtaining a full licence, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 6 months bedside nursing experience in an acute care setting within the last year. The position does require the successful applicant to have experience in wound care, IV initiation and medication administration, IV, oral intramuscular and subcutaneous. You may be eligible for the Rural Federal Student Loan Forgiveness Program if you meet other eligibility requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous Connect Care (Rural Nurse). Labour and Delivery and post-partum experience or a willingness to train is a must. As this facility cares for a variety of clients experience or training in palliative care is beneficial. Experience as a charge nurse and previous work as an RN in a rural setting is an asset. The following is also preferred. The following is also preferred: ACLS, NRP, FHS, training in LEAD II, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI).
